Custom Sequin Fabrics for Fashion and Design

  • Posted by Flavio Marini

Details make a difference in fashion and textile design. Sequin fabrics bring light, colour and movement to a surface. Marini Ricami 1986 develops customised sequin embroidery by combining experience, sampling and computer-controlled production.

Sequin fabrics on rigid and stretch bases

We can work on both rigid and stretch fabrics, choosing the construction to suit the intended use. Possible applications include eveningwear, swimwear, accessories and interiors; each project requires an appropriate base fabric, sequin and care specification.

Computer-controlled embroidery and frame-based techniques help position sequins consistently across the fabric. Italian-made polyester-film sequins may be available for particular projects; any origin, certification or performance document must be confirmed for the selected component and finished fabric.

Colours and customisation

Choose a colour from the available palette or discuss a custom shade. We can also apply sequins to rigid or stretch fabric supplied by the customer, subject to testing its suitability for the process, across widths agreed for the project.

Sequin sizes, finishes and shapes

Sizes described in the Italian article: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18 and 25 mm. Availability depends on the sequin and equipment selected.

Finish and colour options include metallic, opaline, satin, lustred, fancy, pressed, embossed, transparent or metallic iridescent, oriental-style and custom colours. Samples help establish the exact shade and effect.

Shapes can include round, cuvette, offset-hole, flower, square, rectangular, oval, diamond, ring, triangular, star, teardrop, convex, hammered and reversible sequins. The design and application method determine which options can be combined.

Why work with Marini Ricami 1986?

  • Material selection: choose sequins and request the documentation relevant to your product.
  • Production know-how: computer-controlled embroidery alongside detailed sampling and finishing.
  • Custom design: select colours, shapes, dimensions and placement for the brief.
  • Scheduling: agree prototype and production lead times for the quantity and complexity required.
  • Experience since 1986: decades of embroidery development for fashion and design.

A sequin fabric can add brightness and character to a collection. We develop the pattern and materials around your idea, then test a sample before production.
